Visiting Cro Care

Update on visitor restrictions for residential aged care facilities

Cro Care is committed to managing visitor access at our facility to ensure the utmost health and wellbeing of our residents and staff.

In order to balance our residents’ quality of life with their safety and the safety of all connected with Cro Care, in addition to DHHS directives we continue to have a number of further requirements in place.

Visitor arrangements for friends and family

Your continued support is appreciated and in light of restrictions for Residential Aged Care we encourage family members to discuss all the available means of connecting with your loved ones.

To minimise congestion and associated risk to residents, staff and family members, we recently implemented a visitor’s booking system as outlined below.

  1. Please request your visit at least 24 hours prior by phoning Reception on 03 7037 5100 (between 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday). All weekend bookings must be confirmed in business hours.
  2. We encourage all participating family members to provide evidence they have received a COVID-19 vaccine before visiting Cro Care. If this is not available, please let us know before your visit.
  3. To enter Cro Care you will need to present acceptable evidence of a negative result from a COVID-19 rapid antigen test undertaken at our facility prior to entry on the same day you attend the care facility.
  4. Face masks to be worn at all times (Cro Care can supply)

To minimise disappointment of availability for your chosen day/time, we encourage you to make a booking well in advance. Please coordinate your visit with other family members prior to visiting to ensure all adhere to the visitor limits.

The booking system gives everyone the opportunity to spend some valuable time with your loved ones and we look forward to seeing you.

Please help us all stay safe by practicing strict hand hygiene protocol upon entering the facility, keeping 1.5m away from others and wear a mask covering both nose and mouth at all times (according to Vic Gov guidelines), and getting tested even if you have the slightest of symptoms. If you have any symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, please DO NOT VISIT our facility.

If you or a family member have been asked to go into isolation due, please notify Crocare immediately and advise the last time you visited the facility.

As restrictions ease, we must continue to remain vigilant about the exposure sites and the high number of COVID-19 cases within the community and we will take necessary measures to ensure the safety of residents, staff and all visitors are protected.

Thank you for your patience as we have worked to keep residents and staff safe from COVID-19. We know it hasn’t been easy for you to be separated from your loved ones, and we are grateful you can visit again.
